The Mining Act 1978, being based on an 'all minerals' concept does not require applicants for prosecting licences, exploration licences and mining leases to specify target minerals, and the information sought can therefore not be extracted from the Department's electronic mining tenement databases. It is suggested that the Hon Member contacts Mr W Phillips, Director Land Access and Titles, at the Department on 9222-3241 to discuss how the Department may be able to assist in providing relevant information regarding mining tenements in localities of specific interest.
