I refer to the long-awaited Transperth ticketing system upgrades, which were to allow passengers to tag on and off with a credit card, mobile phone, wearable device and the like, and I ask: (a) what is the status of the upgrade project; (b) what is the current estimated time that the ability to tag on and off, as described above, will go live across the network; (c) what technical issues remain to be resolved; (d) how many new validator machines have been installed to date; (e) how many new validator machines have yet to be installed; and (f) when will the work in (e) be completed?

(a)-(f) End-to-end testing is underway, with a live pilot to commence shortly following the resolution of any issues identified in the test.
In the meantime, the existing SmartRider system continues to serve passengers well, with over 90% of passengers using a SmartRider.
