a) Yes, preliminary consultation with local residents and interest groups regarding the future of the East Perth Power Station site commenced in June and has recently been completed. This preliminary consultation will be followed by a three month open community consultation period following the release of a draft masterplan later this year.
b) The interest groups which have already been consulted and the time of this consultation is as follows:
· Heritage Stakeholders including representatives from the National Trust, Labour History Society, Historic Machinery Preservation Club, Royal Australian Institute of Architects (Heritage Panel), Engineers Australia (Heritage Committee) on Thursday 10 June 2004.
· Claisebrook Catchment Group on Wednesday 23 June 2004.
· East Perth Business Network on Monday 14 June 2004.
· Banks Precinct Action Group on Thursday 24 June 2004.
· Residents of Belvidere (Claisebrook Village, East Perth) on Thursday 8 July 2004.

Following the release of a draft masterplan later this year, a formal three month community consultation process will take place where all members of the community will be encouraged to participate and have their say regarding future uses for the site. A final masterplan will be released at the end of the year.
