RESERVES
— SHARK BAY
861. Hon KEN BASTON to the Minister for Environment:
I refer to the minister's
answer to question without notice 795 regarding the Shark Bay region and the
Plan for Our Parks process.
(1) Is the
minister aware that community concern is growing in regard to a lack of
consultation, noting that the Shire of Shark Bay voted in favour of requesting
that the Minister for Environment ''provide an update to the Council and
community of Shark Bay in regard to the progress and proposed consultation
timelines and for the State Government Plan for Parks'' specific to the
Shire of Shark Bay?
(2) Will the
minister confirm that further consultation regarding any expansion of reserve
areas in the region will include in-person meetings with local residents and
community groups?
