I refer to the media report in the
Bullsbrook Ellenbrook Advocate
of 1 December 2010, entitled, ‘$3m plan for mental health issues’ reporting that the ‘Member for Swan Hills Frank Alban wants to act now to combat mental health issues in Ellenbrook with plans to build a $3 million extension to the library to house outlets for community support’, and ask -
(1) Will the Minister confirm whether $3 million has been committed to build an extension to the Ellenbrook library to combat mental health issues as reported on 1 December 2010 in the
Advocate
?
(2) What are the proposed extensions referred to in the media report?
(3) Where is the site that the media report says the then Minister for Mental Health, Graham Jacobs, and the member for Swan Hills visited, that has been earmarked for the extensions?
(4) If $3 million dollars has not been committed, what new funds have been committed to address mental health issues in Ellenbrook?

(1-4) I have been advised by the Member for Swan Hills, Frank Alban that the media report in the Bullsbrook Ellenbrook Advocate of 1 December 2010 regarding a $3 million plan for mental health issues was inaccurate.
The State Government provided new funds in 2010/11 to support six individuals with mental illness living in Ellenbrook, including the provision of accommodation and visiting support services provided by a non government organisation.
