ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
(COST RECOVERY) REGULATIONS 2021
824. Hon
COLIN de GRUSSA to the minister representing the Minister for
Environment:
I ask this
question on behalf of Hon Tjorn Sibma who is away on urgent parliamentary
business.
I
refer to the three analyses commissioned by the Department of Water and
Environmental Regulation and undertaken by Ernst and Young and Lisa
Byrne Consulting that underpin the cost recovery model proposed under the draft
Environmental Protection (Cost Recovery) Regulations 2021.
(1) Can the minister provide those documents, in whole
or in part, to industry stakeholders before the conclusion of the
consultation phase on 22 October?
(2) If not, why not?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. I answer on behalf of the minister representing
the Minister for Environment.
(1)–(2) I
am advised by the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation that as part
of the consultation with stakeholders, the department has offered to provide
direct briefings on the documents and data to interested stakeholders. This
invitation is open until the close of the consultation period.
