(1) How many drivers were convicted for drink driving offences for each calendar year for the years 2001 to 2006 (inclusive), and what was the number of drivers for each offence type?
(2) How many drivers were convicted for hoon driving for each calendar year since the legislation was introduced, and what were the number of vehicle impoundments/confiscations?
(3) How many drivers have lost their licence for loss of demerit points for each calendar year 2001 to 2006 (inclusive)?

Since the introduction of the "hoon" laws in September 2004 a total of 969 vehicles have been seized as of the 7 May 2007. For each calendar year the number of vehicles seizures are as follows: 2004 - 154 2005 - 397 2006 - 336 2007 - 82 (3) Entire calendar year figures for 2006 are not available as functionality for demerit point suspensions was transferred to the Department for Planning and Infrastructure. The number of Demerit Point Files which indicate loss of 12 or more demerit points are: 2001 : 8677 2002 : 8773 2003 : 8608 2004 : 8753 2005 : 10409 Jan-Aug 2006 : 7563 The increase in 2005-6 may be explained by the commencement of the Traffic Enforcement Group in February 2005.
