Minister for Aboriginal Affairs:
I refer to the ''Review of
the Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972 Consultation Paper''.
(1) Will an
interim report for each phase of the consultation be published and publicly
available prior to the release of the final report?
(2) If no to (1), why not?
(3) If yes to (1), will this interim
report be available for public comment and for how long?
(4) Will the submissions be publicly
available?
(5) If no to (4), why not?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1)–(5) A
discussion paper incorporating feedback from the consultation paper will be
made publicly available, and form the basis of a further round of consultation.
In addition, all submissions, online survey responses and consultation workshop
summaries will be published on the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage
website and will inform the further consultation undertaken.
