I have given some notice of this question but I draw the Premier’s attention to the fact that I have added slightly to the original question with some information that has come to me since that time. (1) Will the Premier confirm that, in an unprecedented move, the Peel Health Campus has cancelled its elective surgery from 30 November to 30 January due to insufficient funds? (2) Will the Premier also confirm that 30 nursing staff in the pre and post-surgical areas have been told to take annual leave, been redeployed or will be taking leave without pay over this period, with 40 doctors affected and 380 elective surgery patients having their operations cancelled? Dr G.I. GALLOP

I thank the member for some notice of this question. As I have just received the briefing note on the matter I have not had the opportunity to absorb it and to give a proper answer to the member. I ask the member to put the question on notice. As soon as I can, I will get back to the member with the answer to the issues he has raised. Point of Order Mr D.F. BARRON-SULLIVAN : I ask that the Premier table the briefing note. The SPEAKER : The Premier definitely did not quote from any report so there is no point of order.
