I refer to the prevalence of family and domestic violence in Western Australia (WA), and I ask: (a) for the 2024-25 financial year, how many women in Western Australia have been recorded as having had experienced physical, emotional or economic abuse by a cohabiting partner; (b) of these in (a), what percentage having recorded experiencing physical and/or sexual abuse; (c) of these in (a), what percentage having recorded experiencing emotional abuse; (d) of these in (a), what percentage having recorded experiencing economic abuse; (e) what proportion of all assault victims were family and domestic violence related; (f) how many incidents of family and domestic violence were attended by WA Police; (g) how many women were hospitalised in Western Australia in 2024-25 to date due to family and domestic violence; (h) of these women in (g), how many identified as Aboriginal; (i) for the 2024-25 financial year to date in Western Australia: (i) how many children have been identified by the Department of Communities as having been exposed to family and domestic violence; and (ii) how many confirmed cases of child maltreatment recorded family and domestic violence as a risk factor; (j) for the 2024-25 financial year to date, how many homicides in Western Australia were recorded as intimate partner homicides; (k) of those in (j), how many victims were female; and (l) of those in (j), how many offenders were male?

The Department of Communities advises:
(a - d) The requested data refers to data items from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), Personal Safety Survey. The Personal Safety Survey is run every four to five years. Current available data is from the reference period 2021-22. The data is publicly available.
(e) This data item is available in two sources, as follows:
The ABS Recorded Crime data is publicly available up to 2023-24.
The WA Police Force crime statistics are publicly available, year to date.
(f) The WA Police Force advises that 80,499 incidents attended by WA Police in the 2024-25 financial year were categorised in the Computer Aided Dispatch as Family Violence.
(g) The Department of Health advises, in 2024-25, there were 1,040 inpatient separations from the WA public health system for women that were recorded as being assaulted by a family member.
(h) The Department of Health advise, in 2024-25, there were 656 inpatient separations from the WA public health system for women that were recorded as being Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, and assaulted by a family member.
(i) For the 2024-25 financial year:
(i) A total of 19,792 distinct children have been recorded in Domestic Violence Incident reports ( Annual Report 2024-25).
(ii) A total of 4,631 substantiated child safety investigations have been recorded in which family and domestic violence was identified as a significant issue ( District Profile 2024-25) .
(j) for the 2024-25 financial year, nine homicides in Western Australia were recorded as intimate partner homicides;
(k) of those in (j), two victims were female; and
(l) of those in (j), two offenders were male.
