Given the costs and diversion of police resources from frontline operational policing that could result from collating the information sought, the information requested is unable to be provided. In the near future the Western Australia Police Service Internet website (www.police.gov.au), will contain crime statistics at the suburb / locality level. Visitors to the website will be able to search by suburb or locality the number of reported offences for the five most commonly requested offence categories of: Assault, Burglary (dwelling), Burglary (non dwelling), Steal Motor Vehicle and Robbery. This information will be available on a monthly basis to July 1999. Offence clearance statistics will continue to be available at a State, Regional and District level.
