The West Australian today ran a full-page advertisement placed by the Water Corporation attempting to give us all a wakeup call about our seriously low water reserves for the summer. We are warned of a total sprinkler ban unless we limit watering to 15 minutes on our two watering days. I would like the minister to clarify or inform me about what the advertisement means. (1) Does the 15-minute limit on the two days mean - (a) per watering station per watering day; (b) total time per watering day; or (c) total time for both watering days? (2) Will the minister get the Water Corporation to clear up the utter confusion that this advertisement has understandably generated in the community? Hon N.D. GRIFFITHS

(1)-(2) The member has asked me to clarify or inform. I would love to be in a position to clarify and inform. I note the observation about the advertisement. It was placed by the Water Corporation; it was not drawn up by me. People can form their own view about whether they are confused. I hope that the Water Corporation’s advertising to encourage us to minimise our use of water is successful. I trust that the Water Corporation will take whatever action is necessary to avoid any confusion, and I hope that occurs soon.
