(a) The role of 'Children's Services Officer' has been converted to
'Senior Assessment Officer' to enable the officers to provide the services required under the National Quality Framework. The change was made earlier this year in response to the demand for prompt assessment and rating of education and care services.
The Senior Assessment Officer role, in addition to the provision of support and advice, assists with the assessment of new service applications enabling timely local decisions to be made. It is also responsible for assessment and rating of services against the National Quality Standard; proactive educative visits to services and monitoring and investigating compliance.
Currently, there is one full-time Senior Assessment Officer in the South West region, in Bunbury, and one part-time officer located in the Great Southern region, in Albany.
(b)-(c) Not applicable-- refer to (a) above.
