(1) (a-c) There were 91 disposals in the 2021-22 financial year, 139 in the 2022-23 financial year and 45 in the 2023-24 financial year (for the period 1 July 2023 to 31 December 2023). Disposals include homes demolished with land retained for future social housing. Over 80% of these disposals fall into this category and the majority of sales were to tenants.
(2) (a-c) The Department of Communities is unable to predict how many dwellings are to be sold or disposed of into the future. This is due to the fact that social housing may be sold or demolished for a number of reasons, including sales to tenants, urban and regional renewal projects or due to natural hazards, or intentional or accidental damage.
