CONSTRUCTION, FORESTRY, MINING AND ENERGY UNION (WA) —
RIGHT-OF-ENTRY LEGISLATION
884. Hon NEIL THOMSON to the parliamentary secretary representing the
Minister for Industrial Relations:
I refer to further revelations in
today's The West Australian report on how Construction,
Forestry, Mining and Energy Union employees
had close links to an outlaw bikie gang, and the progress of amendments to the
right -of-entry laws announced by the Premier recently.
(1) When will the amendments to
right-of-entry legislation be introduced?
(2) When will the opposition be
briefed on the amendments?
(3) Given the
urgency to protect workplaces and employees from bikie standover tactics and
criminal activity, can the minister guarantee these amendments will be
introduced in time for appropriate consideration and debate before Parliament
rises?
