BUS RAPID
TRANSIT SYSTEM AND METRO AREA EXPRESS LIGHT RAIL — COMPARISON
149. Hon KATE DOUST to the
parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
(1) Did the business case for light rail
provided to the government in December 2012 include any comparison of bus
versus light rail along the north central corridor; and, if yes, what was the
outcome?
(2) If no to (1), why not?
(3) Did the Department of Transport commence
an investigation in early 2013 into whether a rapid bus service was a better
option than light rail between Perth and Mirrabooka?
(4) If yes to (3), has that investigation been completed, and when will
the Minister for Transport table it?
(5) Has the government received a report on
light rail for Perth; and, if yes, what was its conclusion, and will the
minister table it?

There are at least
nine questions on this particular matter. The one from Hon Kate Doust does not seem to be in my folder at this stage. I
shall have to get back to the member with the answer to that question.
