ST ANDREW'S HOSTEL, KATANNING — ABUSE
INQUIRY
399. Mr P.B. WATSON to the Premier:
I have a supplementary question. Given the damning evidence
of abuse and cover-ups already made public, will the Premier agree that
releasing the report without delay is an important part of providing some
closure to the victims who have already waited too long for justice?

AnswerView source ↗

Yes, I accept that. We have to deal
with this properly. The report has only just been received. It impacts on
several areas. Cabinet is yet to examine that report. There will be a briefing
to cabinet in the near future. Once we have dealt with the matters I mentioned,
it will be released. Certainly the government will make sure that it is
released in a proper way as quickly as we can properly do.
