(a) Upon being advised of the motor vehicle incident in relation to Ms Woods, line management within the Department took immediate action, which included advising the Acting Director General. The correspondence to Ms Woods, approximately six weeks after the event, followed the findings of an investigation by the line manager into the event and advice from the Principal Legal Officer.

Following the findings of an investigation by the line manager into the event and advice from the Principal Legal Officer, the Acting Director General decided to pursue a more formal process as proscribed in the Public Sector Management Act 1994.
