I refer to a report in The West Australian of 12 March 2008 titled “Archer peace deal”. (1) Will the minister provide Parliament with the details of any specific funding allocated to north west Indigenous communities for drug, alcohol and sex education programs in exchange for the vote of the Independent member to support the government’s prostitution legislation? (2) Which communities are to be funded? (3) What programs will be undertaken? (4) Who will provide the programs? (5) From which portfolio will the funding come? Hon SUE ELLERY

(1)-(5) I thank the member for some notice of this question. Any allocation of funding by the Department of Health is made on the basis of identified need, community and service priorities and the availability of funds. The Department of Health has neither made nor been asked to make funding decisions on the basis set out by Hon Barbara Scott.
