Children in care—Whereabouts unknown
47. Hon Nick Goiran to
the Minister for Agriculture and Food
representing the Minister for Child Protection :
I refer to the
answer on 24 February 2026 to question without notice 2 in which the house was
advised that in accordance with the Child
Protection Guide , when missing or unaccounted for children are located,
child safety practitioners engage and attempt to establish if they were a
victim of crime and provide any required supports.
(1) Was this done for the 11 children whose
whereabouts were unknown for between one and 19 days?
(2) If yes, did this result in any matters being
reported to the department's senior leadership?
(3) If no to (1) or (2), why not?
