I refer to the Minister's statement in the House on 20 March 2014 that 'the quality of the evidence that has been provided to the courts has improved, which has resulted in an increase in the percentage of guilty pleas and convictions', and I ask: (a) what percentage of criminal cases brought before the courts result in guilty pleas in each of 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014; (b) what percentage of criminal cases brought before the courts result in convictions in each of 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014; (c) what percentage of criminal cases brought before the courts resulted in a custodial sentence (not suspended) in each of 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014; (d) what percentage of criminal cases brought before the courts resulted in a suspended custodial sentence in each of 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014; and (e) what percentage of criminal cases brought before the courts failed in a successful conviction due to insufficient evidence in each of 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014?
