(a) Animal cruelty is not restricted to Broome and the North West. The independent review of the investment in and administration of the Animal Welfare Act 2002 in Western Australia has made 19 recommendations to improve animal welfare in this State. The Government has accepted all of the recommendations of the review.
(b) The animal welfare review did not recommend any increase in funding for the RSPCA. However, it did recommend that the Government consider funding an additional five general inspectors. Government is currently considering funding the recommendations of the review.
