Port Gregory jetty
514. Hon Rod Caddies to
the parliamentary secretary representing the Minister
for Transport:
I refer to the sand
accumulation around the Port Gregory jetty as mentioned in an ABC report on 3 August
2025.
(1) What steps is the government taking to address
the sand accumulation that has landlocked the Port Gregory jetty?
(2) When will the minister fulfill her 2021
promise to visit the site and engage with affected residents?

I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question and provide the following
answer on behalf of the Minister for Transport.
(1)–(2) The government has been monitoring
sedimentation along Port Gregory's coastline since 2012. Due to the rapid rate
of siltation at Port Gregory, current options available may have impacts on
coastal erosion elsewhere.
