KPMG contracts
447. Hon Tjorn Sibma to
the minister representing the Minister for Finance:
I refer to the
Australian Securities and Investments Commission's investigation into KPMG
arising from admissions that the firm leaked sensitive client data and that,
consequently, Commonwealth government agencies and the state governments of
Victoria and New South Wales are comprehensively reviewing their contracts with
KPMG.
(1) How many contracts exist between the
state government and KPMG? What are they and what are their monetary value?
(2) What specific steps has the minister
and the department taken particularly regarding these contracts? Please table
any relevant documents.
(3) What assurances has the state
government sought from KPMG regarding the current and historical use of its
data and how has KPMG responded? Please table any relevant documents.
