With regard to nature conservation reserves in the Kimberley, -
(1) Is the Minister aware of the National Parks and Nature Reserves Report 1962 recommending a reserve of 125 000 hectares in the Coulomb Point area to preserve an area of pindan and its characteristic fauna including the Nailtail wallaby, and the Bilby, an internationally threatened species?
(2) Is the Minister aware of the Nature Conservation Reserves in the Kimberley Western Australia submission by the Department of Conservation and Land Management 1991 that recommends a Dampierland National Park of 112,800 hectares adjacent to the Coulomb Point Nature Reserve?
(3) Is the Minister aware of the Waterbank Structure Plan 2000 which recommends a 93 000 hectare reserve for Conservation and Aboriginal Heritage adjacent to the Coulomb Point Nature Reserve?
(4) Is the Minister aware of any other recommendations for a conservation reserve in the Coulomb Point area?
(5) If yes to (4), what are they?
(6) Does the Department of Environment and Conservation still recommend that a Dampierland National Park be established adjacent to the Coulomb Point Nature Reserve?
(7) If yes to (6), what class and how many hectares do they recommend?
(8) If no to (6), why not?
(9) Does the Minister agree with the establishment of a Dampierland National Park of 112,800 hectares to protect an area of pindan as well as threatened species such as the Bilby?
(10) If yes to (9), when does the Minister expect such a reserve be gazetted?
(11) If no to (9), why not?
