asked on behalf of Hon Dr Steve Thomas, who is on urgent parliamentary
business.
I refer to question without notice
458 asked on 19 May 2020 about the government's creation of an A-class
conservation reserve ''to save Beeliar wetlands''.
(1) What new boundaries are being
created for the A-class conservation reserve?
(2) Will the minister please provide
a map of the new A-class conservation reserve?
(3) Does the new reserve cover entirely the previously
proposed road reserve for the Roe 8 highway extension?
(4) If no to (3),
which sections are not covered?
(5) What area of
the new class A conservation reserve is outside the previously proposed roads
reserve for the Roe 8 highway extension?

I thank Hon Dr Steve Thomas for some
notice of the question. The following answer has been provided to me by the
Minister for Lands.
(1) The new class A reserve
comprises approximately 610 hectares as shown on the tabled map.
(2) I table the attached map.

(3) No.
(4) It is the portion west of
Progress Drive to Stock Road.
(5) An area of
approximately 590 hectares of the class A reserve is outside of the previously
proposed metropolitan region scheme regional road reserve.
