I thank the member for some notice of this question. The state government has commenced funding stage 2 of the theatre strategy. We have committed to a new production in order to support the independent theatre sector. A feasibility study to examine its establishment has been approved and is currently being organised through the Department of Culture and the Arts. The state government has also committed additional funds to the Black Swan Theatre Company as follows: in 2007, $1 082 000; in 2008, $1 200 000; and in 2009, $1 234 000. Additional funding to Stages and the Performing Arts Centre Society, the Blue Room, has been continued.
