(1) Preliminary investigation into the relocation and subsequent redevelopment of the site has commenced with recent discussions held between LandCorp and the Water Corporation.
(2) Detailed costs have not been determined but preliminary estimates are that relocation and rebuilding would be in the order of $65-$80m.
(3) LandCorp is funding the preliminary investigation. The works are likely to be in the order of $100,000 to complete. Subject to investigation outcomes, a Business Case will be prepared to consider development options.

(5) Yes. The State Government's Infrastructure Australia bid to the Federal Government for Pilbara Cities includes a request for funds towards upgrade and possible relocation of waste water treatment in Port Hedland.
(5)(a) The application to Infrastructure Australia was submitted by the State Government on 5 November 2009 and announced by the Premier on 18 November 2009.
(6) No funds from the Pilbara Revitalisation Plan have been allocated to the relocation of the sewerage ponds in Port Hedland to date. Funding from the Pilbara Revitalisation Plan for Port Hedland has focussed on funding to the Town of Port Hedland for community development projects, provision of underground power, health improvement projects and the South Hedland Town Centre revitalisation project.
