Hon Ray Halligan questions Hon Nick Griffiths on whether the published tender results for tender 26526 constitute "full and proper accountability" as previously assured, referencing a prior question on government transparency policy. Griffiths responds by reiterating the government's policy of publishing successful tenderers and winning prices over $10,000 and invites Halligan to raise any specific concerns.

I refer the minister to his response to my question without notice 1162 of 20 August 2003. Does the minister believe that the results of tender 26526, awarded on 2 September 2003 to CDM HP, as communicated on the Government’s electronic market web site, constitute “full and proper accountability” according to his assurances? Hon NICK GRIFFITHS

I thank the member for some notice of this question. On 20 August 2003 in question without notice 1162 the member asked - Under this Government’s much vaunted accountability and transparency policy, will the minister ensure that all tender responses are included in the tender result details on the Government’s electronic market web site? I responded as follows - The honourable member raises an interesting question. I will make inquiries about the current practice and ensure that full and proper accountability is given. I thought I should say that so that the answer will be in context. I assure the member that I have made inquiries. The Government’s policy for the provision of information contained on the Government’s contracting information bulletin board requires agencies to publish details of successful tenderers and the winning price of all contracts over $10 000. I table a copy of the results of tender 26526. If the member has a particular problem, I invite him to raise it. [See paper No 1438.]
