I refer to the Government’s recent decision to disallow some senior members of the Western Australian Police Force from taking Police Department vehicles home at the expiry of their shift and the Department’s assertion that this move will save the Government $1.3m per year, and ask -
(1) Can the Minister give itemised details of the proposed $1.3m savings?
(2) Does every Police facility in the State have the capacity to store these vehicles after hours?
(3) If not, can the Minister advise which Police facilities do not have that capacity and where the vehicles from each of those facilities will be stored?
(4) As a result of this decision will any Police vehicles now be stored on non Police Department property after hours?
(5) If so, can the Minister advise the location of those properties and the Police facility responsible for the vehicles being stored there after hours?
(6) What will be the total cost to the Police Department of the storage of these vehicles on non Police Department property?
