I am advised - (1) In this instance the Department of Industry and Resources was carrying out one of its designated functions; namely, the promotion and facilitation of investment in the responsible development of industry in Western Australia. (2) (ai) The brochure cost $720.50; (aii) The display stands cost $1 148.40, and will be retained by the Department of Industry and Resources for future use. (b) The Department of Industry and Resources. I thought I saw an earlier copy with 148, but I will check that. (4) Some 2 000 copies. The intended distribution is throughout the community of Broome. Copies are also given to the Kimberley Land Council; Environs Kimberley; Carol Martin, MLA; various Broome businesses; the Kimberley Development Commission; the Shire of Broome; the Broome Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and Broome radio stations. (5) The brochure presented to the local community in an open and transparent process the results of feasibility studies to date as provided by the company to government. The brochure was not sensitive to the views and aspirations of traditional owners, as it should have been. (6) The Government welcomes the opportunity to provide any stakeholder with an explanation of the promotional and facilitation role carried out by the Department of Industry and Resources.
