BAYSWATER TRAIN STATION — UPGRADE

minister representing the Minister for Transport:
I refer to reports that the Minister
for Transport has made funding commitments for a Bayswater train station
upgrade —
(1) Can the minister confirm that he
has made a commitment to upgrade the Bayswater train station?
(2) If yes to
(1), what is the total funding allocation he has made for the Bayswater train
station upgrade?
(3) What is the scope of the works
that the minister has committed to?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this question.
(1) The Public
Transport Authority is in the early design stages for potential upgrades to
Bayswater Station which will be considered towards the end of the Forrestfield–Airport
Link project. This will take into account any changes to local planning. Some
improvements are occurring in the coming year such as the current tender for
the principal shared path and station car park upgrade works. These works will
relocate the bike path from within the car park grounds.
(2) Current funding for the
principal shared path and car park works totals $1 million.
(3) Refer to (1).
