I ask a supplementary question. Part (2) of my question was: has the Gallop Government put a proposal to the Commonwealth for returning sustainability to the Gnangara mound, which is our equivalent of the Murray-Darling system? Dr G.I. GALLOP

There are many proposals that we can use to improve the water supplies available to the people of Western Australia - many of them. We asked the Commonwealth Government to assist us in that process but it said that it would not consider that as part of the agreement. We are the first Government that has taken the Gnangara issue seriously. We have invested in metering so that we can find out how much water is being used. We will soon have the results of the irrigation review and we will expand the whole process even further. The Opposition can feel free to go out into the community and advocate for John Howard and the Commonwealth Government; however, I will keep advocating for the people of Western Australia. Several opposition members interjected. The SPEAKER: I call to order for the first time the members for Kingsley and Nedlands and the Deputy Leader of the Opposition.
