(1) Since 2007, the Department of Education has had contracts with two providers for de?escalation and restraint training - Team?Teach Australia Pty Ltd and MTU Training Concepts Pty Ltd (PART™ - Predict, Assess and Respond To aggressive/challenging behaviour).  These courses provide school staff with ways to address the aggressive and violent behaviours of students.
(2) Seventy six staff across the State have been trained as tutors in Team?Teach and/or PART.  One third of these staff work at education support schools or centres, enabling local onsite training.  Schools make decisions concerning the training of their education assistants to meet local needs.
