(2) The main issues raised related to an upgrade of the port fresh water main, building maintenance particularly the amenities building on the jetty and the age and condition of port plant and equipment. Senior Department for Planning and Infrastructure (DPI) officers have recently undertaken an inspection of port buildings and other infrastructure in company with an engineering consultant. A revised list of maintenance needs, priorities, cost and proposed timing of works is currently being prepared for consideration by both DPI and the Ord River District Cooperative (ORDC). Under the current Wyndham Port Operating Agreement, the ORDC is responsible for the maintenance of port plant and equipment. Following discussions held at Wyndham on 31 August 2003, the ORDC will evaluate the cost of leasing key plant as an alternative strategy to repairing the existing plant. ORDC also signalled its intention to request an amendment to the existing Operating Agreement, with respect to plant provision and maintenance, as part of negotiations for the renewal of the Operating Agreement, which is due on 1 July 2004. The ORDC request will be considered and evaluated when received. (3) Yes. Replacement has been identified as a future maintenance requirement. (4) Replacement is envisaged within the next three years subject to other port priorities determined in conjunction with the Ord River District Cooperative and funding allocations.
