The previous government subsidy to householders for the installation of solar hot water systems was strongly criticised by the Treasurer when he was in Bunbury before the recent election. He promised that, if elected to government, his party would raise this subsidy to a level more comparable to that of the eastern States; for example, it is $1 000 in Victoria and $750 in Queensland. (1) Will the Treasurer fulfil his election promise? (2) If so, when? (3) If not, why not? Hon N.D. GRIFFITHS
