Public sector—Four-day week
44. Hon Wilson Tucker to the Leader of the House
representing the Premier :
I refer to former
advocacy by the Community and Public Sector Union (CPSU) for a four-day work
week pilot in public sector agencies. Branch Secretary Rikki Hendon said the
claim addresses critical attraction and retention issues within WA's public
sector, with evidence showing a resulting increase in employee health,
wellbeing and workplace productivity. Will the Cook Labor government listen to
the CPSU and trial a four-day work week in the public sector?

I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question. I am advised that the public
sector agreement was accepted by members of the CPSU in September 2024.
Flexible working arrangements form part of this agreement.
