I have a
supplementary question. If there is a review, will the minister commit to the
outcomes of this review informing future planning of social housing complexes,
including those at the Beaufort Street complex?

I want to be very
clear. The Beaufort Street complex has been raised again, which the member has made
clear that he is opposed to. That is a complex for seniors' housing, and I said
that at a press conference, I think, earlier this week. The member continues to
peddle fears about that. Let us be clear again: at the last election, the
opposition had no social housing policy. At the last
election, it said it would match our policy. At the last election, the former Liberal
leader and the current Liberal leader refused to match our social housing
targets. Now we have what is very clearly a housing spokesperson—
Several members
interjected.
The Speaker: Minister—sorry. Leader of the
Opposition and Deputy Premier, please do not interject on the minister while he
is responding to the question. Carry on, minister.
Mr John Carey: We have a housing spokesperson who
clearly has no commitment to social and affordable housing projects. He has no
understanding or policy details, but it is not surprising, because we have seen
that for eight years from this opposition.
