I refer to the Mowanjum Art and Culture Centre that opened in 2007 under the Labor Government, and I ask:
(a) how much Royalties for Regions funding was provided to Mowanjum;
(b) given that the total cost of the Centre is more than $4 million, funded by local community, industry, the Federal Government and the Gallop and Carpenter Governments, why is there now a plaque installed outside the centre implying that it was only funded by Royalties for Regions;
(c) why aren’t the other funding contributors included on this plaque; and
(d) who directed the plaque to be installed?

The Mowanjum Art and Culture Centre commenced public operations in 2007 but was not formally opened until October 2010.
(a) $450,000
(b) The Royalties for Regions plaque has been installed consistent with the communications arrangements contained in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Department of Regional Development and Lands and the Kimberley Development Commission along with the approved State Government style guide applicable to Royalties for Regions projects.
(c) The Mowanjum Centre management plan to install an 'honour board' acknowledging all contributions when all aspects of the project are completed.
(d) Acknowledgement of Royalties for Regions funding is a condition of the grant agreement between the grant recipient and the Kimberley Development Commission. The plaque was supplied by the Kimberley Development Commission and installed by the grant recipient.
