For all departments, agencies, government trading enterprises or boards within the Minister’s portfolio responsibilities I ask since 11 March 2017: (a) How many attempted cyber attacks have there been on internal network systems and if any: (i) How many of these were conducted by a non-state foreign actor; (ii) How many of these were conducted by a nation-state foreign actor; and (iii) How many were successful and was any material containing Cabinet or customer related detail compromised; (b) How many attempted cyber attacks have there been on external network systems or websites and if any: (i) How many of these were conducted by a non-state foreign actor; (ii) How many of these were conducted by a nation-state foreign actor; and (iii) How many were successful and was any material containing Cabinet or customer related detail compromised; and (c) How many attempted cyber attacks have there been on any internet enabled devices (i.e. iPhones, iPads etc.) and if any: (i) How many of these were conducted by a non-state foreign actor; (ii) How many of these were conducted by a nation-state foreign actor; and (iii) How many were successful and was any material containing Cabinet related detail compromised?

The Western Australian Police Force advise that the agency does not store information of this nature for a period greater than the previous 8 months. 137,583 for the period 1 January 2018 - 31 August 2018.
(a) 137,583 for the period 1 January 2018 - 31 August 2018. Due to logging and report generation limitations the WA Police Force do not store information of this nature for a period greater than the previous 8 months.
(i) – (ii) The WA Police Force advise it has not been alerted to non-state or national-state foreign attacks.
(iii) The WA Police Force is aware of no successful attacks.
(b) The WA Police Force is aware of no attempted attacks on external network systems or websites.
(i) – (iii) The WA Police Force is aware of no successful attacks.
(c) The WA Police Force is aware of no attempted attacks on any internet enabled devices.

The Road Safety Commission was attached to the WA Police Force on 1 July 2017 as part of the State Government’s Machinery of Government changes.
