representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to the Albany oncology unit.
(1) Why was the project absent from
the government's COVID recovery plan for the great southern?
(2) Of the $13.1 million state
investment, how much has been spent to date?
(3) Are the
construction plans available for public viewing; if so, where; and, if not, can
the minister please table them?
(4) Once the project is completed,
how many patients are expected to use the facility each month?
(5) For patients
from the great southern who have presented for cancer treatment, please
provide, for each month since the start of the year, the number of patients and
patient assisted travel scheme reimbursement in dollars for Perth and Bunbury.

(1) The Albany
radiation oncology unit is a fully funded project jointly funded by the
commonwealth and state contributions from the prior year.
(2) I have been advised by the WA Country Health
Service that further time is required to answer this question. The
information will be provided to the member by 8 September 2020.
(3) The project
is currently in the latter stages of the design development phase following
which contract documentation will be developed.
