(a – d) Government departments and agencies make thousands of purchases each year for a range of purposes and matters.
To collect this information would require considerable time, which would divert staff away from their normal duties. It is not considered to be a reasonable or appropriate use of government resources.
The Member has the opportunity to interrogate the budgets of agencies and departments through the normal budget estimates process.
