ON-DEMAND TRANSPORT
REFORM — REGIONAL TAXI INDUSTRY
1330. Hon SIMON O'BRIEN to the minister representing
the Minister for Transport:
I refer to concerns of the regional
taxi industry relating to the government's on-demand transport reforms.
(1) Has the Premier
or the Minister for Transport, or any member of their staff, met with any
regional taxi operators since 29 August 2019; and, if so —
(a) when and where did those meetings
occur; and
(b) how many individual regional taxi
operators attended each meeting?
(2) Will the
state government be providing financial assistance/compensation to regional
taxi operators to a level consistent with that provided in the metropolitan
taxi plate buyback scheme; and, if not, why not?
