Minister for State Development, Jobs and Trade:
I refer to question without notice
259 of 21 March 2023.
(1) Who or whom
are the mining consultants engaged by Griffin Coal's managers and
receivers to assist in mine planning and cost forecasts, and on what date were
they engaged?
(2) Under what contractual and
financial agreements have the consultants been engaged?
(3) Will the
consultants' financial remuneration be paid from the government's
unprecedented $19.5 million grant to the receivers and managers of Griffin
Coal?
(4) As at 27
March 2023, how much fiscal drawdown has occurred on the $19.5 million grant
for what amounts, on what dates, and to whom?

Opposition for some notice of the question.
(1)–(2) Griffin's
contractual arrangements are a commercial matter for Griffin and its receivers
and managers.
(3) No funding was provided by
government for this purpose.
(4) On 7 March 2023, $7.3 million
was drawn down by Griffin's receivers and managers.
