SOCIAL HOUSING
100. Mr S.K. L'ESTRANGE to the Premier:
I have a supplementary question.
Premier, you are the Premier of Western
Australia. Why did your government sell off more than a thousand of the social
housing stock when over 20 000 struggling people in WA are waiting for a house?

I would urge the member to put his
question to the Minister for Housing. However, the reality is that over many
decades there has been constant transition of public housing as it ages and as
requirements change. That is what occurs.
That happened under the last government; it happened under the one before that
and the one before that and the one before that, going back forever. It
is disappointing that the member does not know that that is the way it works,
but that is the way it works and it happens in every single community.
The SPEAKER : Order! That
paper will lay on the table for the duration of the day's sitting.
That is the end of question time.
