During the recent election campaign, the minister promised to progress deep sewerage installation in areas close to the Peel Estuary. Will the minister repeat the details of that promise and provide a timetable for its completion? Hon KIM CHANCE

I thank Hon Simon O’Brien for some notice of the question, and I hope that everybody can follow my answer. It is presumed that the honourable member is referring to an article that appeared in The West Australian on 16 February 2005. The article incorrectly attributed comments to the Minister for the Environment. The comments were in fact made by the Minister for Government Enterprises, who will forward a response to the honourable member. The member is not at fault and we are not at fault, but we are trying to get an answer - Hon Simon O’Brien : I am certainly not at fault! Hon KIM CHANCE : No, the member is not. I have since received a note that asks me to advise the member that the minister assisting the Minister for Water Resources will provide a response. However, he was on his feet in the Legislative Assembly at the time this note was written and handed to me.
