I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. I answer on behalf of the Minister for Mines and
Petroleum. The Department of Mines and Petroleum advises as follows —
(1) Licence
L6358/1995/11 is issued by the Department of Environment Regulation under the
Environmental Protection Act 1986. The Department of Environment Regulation
does not licence petroleum well operational activities, including hydraulic
fracture stimulation. Any petroleum well activity, including hydraulic fracture
stimulation, is subject to the Petroleum and Geothermal Energy Resources Act
1967 and associated regulations and schedules.
(2) The member's
question is very broad and it is unclear what specific information is being
requested. Petroleum well activities in the Woodada gas field, including
hydraulic fracture stimulation, have occurred in the PGERA petroleum production
licensed areas.
(3) Due to the
broad nature of the question, DMP is unable to identify or provide the
requested information. As the member has previously been advised, information
regarding petroleum activities is available to the public through the Western
Australian petroleum information management system on the Department of Mines
and Petroleum website. If the member requires further assistance in accessing
this system, he is welcome to contact the office of the Minister for Mines and
Petroleum.
