METIER ASIA
1383. Hon SAMANTHA ROWE to the
Leader of the House representing the Minister for Finance:
I refer to the function on 11 August 2014 that the Minister
for Finance attended with the Chinese Consul General and the chief executive
officer of Metier Asia.
(1) Did the
Minister for Finance advise anyone at the Chinese consulate, either before or
at the function, of his financial interest in Metier Asia?
(2) If yes to (1), what did he disclose and when?
(3) If no to (1), why did the minister not disclose his
potential conflict of interest to the consul general?

question.
(1) No.
(2) Not applicable.
(3) The
informal dinner was arranged to discuss forging closer ties between our two
communities and international relations at a macro level. The Minister for
Finance did not identify a potential conflict of interest to disclose.
