2. Separate costs are not available for male and female prisoners as there are prisons that have both male and female prisoners. 3. For 2000-01 the cost per day was $520.68. 4. (a) There are no adult diversionary programs. Diversionary programs are programs undertaken by individual prior to a court appearance and only apply to juveniles. For adults, there are no such diversionary programs prior to a court appearance. Should an individual be convicted by a court, various programs are available both in prison and offenders subject to community based orders. (b) See 4(a) (c) The cash cost per day of a diversion program for juvenile offender per day is: · Killara Youth Support Services: 26c per day. This is an average cost based on 9,301 referrals for the year 2000-01. A referral may range from minimal contact intervention through to intensive follow up. · Juvenile Justice Teams: The annual budget of the Juvenile Justice Teams for the metropolitan region is $1,155,919. Based on 1845 successfully completed action plans, the cost per juvenile offender is $626.51 5.
