(1) Yes, most of LandCorp's residential land releases require the buyer to construct dwellings on them with a prescribed timeframe.
(2) The prescribed timeframe is 30 months to 36 months for residential and to reach practical completion.
(3) Where the buyer does not develop the property within this prescribed timeframe, the contract provides LandCorp with an option to repurchase. Most buyers who cannot meet the build timeframe will apply to LandCorp for an extension of time.  These are assessed regularly and are approved where the buyer has made progress or where a buyer has suffered hardship and can evidence genuine reasons for not being able to build. LandCorp encourage its buyers by way of reminder communications of their obligations to build.
(4) As at 1 March 2011, LandCorp is managing 290 lots where the development timeframe has expired. Each buyer's circumstance varies and following a thorough investigation, the outcome will be either; the buyer is granted an extension, the lot is repurchased or LandCorp will allow the owner to on sell the lot if a repurchase is not favourable to LandCorp.
(5) The said 290 lots are located across the State and the reason for non compliance varies for each buyer. Discussions regarding the non compliance of these lots are still to be finalised, and to list every name would divert considerable resources and could impinge upon privacy matters as in many cases discussions that are being held are regarding hardships being faced by purchasers.
